Emperor Shou Pu-Erh 2008China, Shou Pu-Erh Tea

Small wiry free leaf, not in nugget or cake form. Very clean and consistent with hardly any breakage and an abundance of orange leaf fuzz. There's a slightly fishy smell to it, reminds me of ankimo and dried shrimp. Ultimately, this smell proves too fishy for my taste but it is indeed rather faint. A beautiful rose hue to the infusion that turns gorgeously and richly dark with longer steepings. Mineral flavor associations like hot beach sand and stone pebbles besides the usual walnut notes and the bitter nuances of fermentation. Very-very clean-tasting tea but the piscatory smell is too much.
