Pre-Chingming Black BudChina, Black Tea

Very fine tea with lots of silky yellow tips. Gaiwan fit the whole sample but use less next time. Chocolate, toast, cow's milk. Sour espresso-like note. Multiple full-strength infusions. No astringency, very smooth. Beatifully crafted very fine tea.

Gaiwan: Red Blossom Tea, Jingdezhen Spring

Upton Tea description: "A 2014 production Pre-Chingming black tea from Hunan province. The long, wiry threads of black and golden leaf give this tea a beautiful variegated appearance. The tea liquor has a mildly tart, cocoa aroma and silky smooth flavor with honeyed notes of caramel, cocoa, dark berries and a suggestion of rose."
