Producer profile
PL small family-owned house founded in 1930 and today creating “elegant, filigreed champagnes”. Extra Brut Rosé is "delicate in build but intense in aroma". Seek out the vintage cuvee Liesse d’Harbonville "made predominantly from chardonnay: vinified in barrique, it's a lively, fragrant champagne of great longevity, marked by an elegant clarity and refinement". TyS no mention. ToS 85 "value". Liesse d'Harbonville has been barrique-fermented since 1988, without malolactic, neither fined nor filtered, "stunning in its youth and turning towards great Burgundian style with age".

Tasting notes

@gaiwanstyle Cuveé Passion Extra Brut. Cork of medium resistance and immediate expansion, uncorking with a generous cloud and no spill. Pretty neck foil with ornamental collar. Unusual pale yellow color of the embossed label in traditional style. Richly toasty nose. Effusive bubbles. Saturated ripe Bartlett pear yellow. Balanced profile with good acidity. Instantly enjoyable. Purchased at Federal Wines in spring 2020 for $54. ⭐⭐
